Congratulations to all the winners on Saturday. The Kenny Cup was won by Michael McGarry who defeated Tony McCormack. Fergus Garland won the Hackett Cup in his match with Jeremy Plunkett and Seamas Breen defeated John Dwyer for the Club Championship.

Great to see that our Honorary Member Joe Lyons was a prominent member of the Galway G.C. team that won the Senior Cup 4/1 at the finals in Carton House on Sunday. Interestingly another Birr Honorary Member, Justin Kehoe was a member of the defeated Limerick Senior Team.

Ladies
Sunday last 24th September saw the ladies out in large numbers as our members along with a large number of visitors played in glorious sunshine in the Open Competition sponsored by the A Sportsman's Dream, Nenagh (Siobhan Tynan). The clubhouse was alive as the ladies returned, all smiles and some great scores too. After dining in the restaurant the presentation of prizes were as follows:

There is a container in place on the 10th fairway side of the house for you to drop off your bags of unwanted clothing etc. for the fundraising collection. Remember the more we collect, the more money for the club. We hope to fill the container to capacity and more but only if everyone helps out, so please spread the word.
Finally massive congratulations to Trish Rowland on winning the Irish Open Matchplay in Druids Heath on Sunday last against Gary Gillespie from Tyrone. Trish is the first lady golfer to win the competition and tops off a great year following her success in the club's Captain's and President's prize earlier this year.
