Birr Golf Club has made a new membership category available, so you can now play golf for 360 euro per annum plus GUI/ILGU fees. Direct debit and finance options are available through Birr Credit Union subject to the usual conditions. The Spring League sponsored by Michael Horan's Golf Shop and Driving Range is up and running very well with thirty teams taking part. Leading the field after the first round are The Muppets and The Amigoes, both with 119 points​, closely followed by the President's Men and the 4th Platoon on 118 pts. The Rynagh's Boys are in good form with 115 points. The weather has been very kind and favourable which means all have opportunities to play and enjoy the competition.

The Course

The poplar removal programme is progressing well  and most of the trees should be removed within the next week or so. Note that the 10th is closed for the present.

The new drain on the left of the 3rd is almost completed. The Management is very grateful for all the help.

 

Ladies Golf

We wish Lady Captain Theresa and Lady President Aileen along with Mr Captain Sean and Mr President Tom the very best of luck in the drive-in on Sunday next and invite all members old and especially new to the Mixed Scramble.   Please note that the Winter League holes are now 1-4, then 7-9 and 11-12 while tree felling is in operation. We thank all for their help and patience while all this great work is taking place on the course. Rounds 4-6 to be played by February 26th.  Winner of our hamper sponsored by Paul Boyd Butchers is Patricia Rowland (11) with 32 pts. 2nd was Rita Delaney (17) 28 pts and 3rd Amy Spain (11) 28 pts . 

We would like to extend a warm welcome to both our new and previous lady members and look forward to meeting you all in the Glenns. We hope to have an introductory evening for all our new members in the clubhouse very soon and we look forward to meeting you all.
