Captain’s Prize

The final round of Captain Brendan O’Carroll’s prize was played off under almost perfect conditions on Saturday. The promised rains came early in the morning and fortunately they had bypassed The Glenns by the time our leaders were driving off. The conditions suited the leaders and most returned excellent scores. The lucky winner Christy McGarry in the now traditional High Street tradition captured the beautiful trophy with a return of 132 nett.

At the presentation that evening Captain Brendan thanked all who played and congratulated  Christy on winning his prize and all the others who were in the winners’ enclosure.  He had special praise for the organising committee, the course staff  and all who played over the three days. He especially thanked  Mr. Rossitor of Isover Insulations for his most generous sponsorship.

In reply Mr. Rossitor said he was very happy to support the Captain’s prize and noted the splendid condition of the course and wished the Club every success throughout the years ahead. He enjoyed the golfing that morning and thanked his playing partners for making the round so enjoyable.

The evening’s entertainment was enjoyed by all with Rock on Paddy providing the music
