Congratulations are due to our team who captured the Offaly Championship on Friday last. The team led the field with 134 pts followed by Edenderry on 128 pts. Our team under managers Francie Horan and Alan Naylor was: Brendan Hoare/Alan Naylor 46pts. Brian Guinan/Brendan Hogan 45 pts. Padraig Moylan/Jeremy Plunkett 43 pts and Pat Madden/Christy McGarry 41 pts. Top four scores to count.
Tudenham Cup
Hard luck on our Tudenham Cup team who came up against an in-form Moyvally team who defeated us by 3/2 in the final at Mullingar on Saturday. The team under managers Francie Horan and Brian Guinan was: Joe Slevin/Matt Dudley; Christy Purcell/Paschal Troy; Simon Hogan/John Murphy; Albert Kelly/PJ Lowry and Tommy Hogan/ Brendan Hoare. Kevin McGrath, Golf Professional, in conjunction with Birr Golf Shop and Driving Range is holding a Free Open Night on October 8th from 6pm to 9pm at the Driving Range. This free night is open to all level of golfers, male and female, junior boys and girls, from total beginners to advanced golfers.
