Spring League
The Spring League commenced on Sat. 28 Jan. and will be run over five rounds until Sat. 31 March. A player may play five times anytime during the league. Scores will not be posted for any unpaid player. The competition will be a 14-Hole Single Stableford from the white markers. Current handicaps apply. Please return all cards. Twelve teams to qualify for the final on Sunday 1 April.
Francie Horan and the Committee are very pleased with the 37 teams who have entered as this is a record number with five more teams than last year.
Please check the Competition Rules before playing, especially rules three and four.

Subscriptions
Members are reminded that subscriptions are now due and the club would be very grateful if members would pay before 1 March in order to avail of the three Green Fee Vouchers. There are several methods of payment, including by Standing Order, by Credit Card, by Laser and by the traditional methods.
Fantasy Cheltenham
Members will be glad to know that the very successful Fantasy Cheltenham tickets are now available from the office and committee members. This interesting competition ran last year in conjunction with Cheltenham Racing Festival and created quite a stir around the Club.
Course Work
Liam O’Brien, Chairman of the Course Sub Committee and several volunteers have been exceptionally busy of late tidying up the course and removing much dead wood from the surrounds. At present Liam and his assistants are drawing up plans to plant a variety of trees in the area of the 4th and 5th fairways. Liam hopes to call on the generosity of members to sponsor some of the trees. These trees will no doubt enhance our course and will add to the development of the new holes.Please find further information on the various notice boards.
Easter Junior Golf Camp
This will be run by Birr Golf Shop and Driving Range. It promises to be a fun filled week of all things golf. It will be a great place to meet new friends.

Golf Rules
The latest edition of the Rules of Golf is now available in the Club.
Ladies’ golf
Winter/Spring League. The first three rounds have been completed and the results are posted in the ladies locker room. The next three rounds began on Sunday 29 January and will finish on 18 February, 2012. Again three rounds to be played over the three weeks. Rules are posted in the locker room with one change to the playing conditions, that is, placing everywhere. Usual draws on Wednesday, i.e. 9 am, 9.45 and 12.45 pm.
A new 9-hole competition commenced on Sunday 29 January which will be ongoing.
Also the team panels have been posted in the locker room. Please check your name and availability.
