Spring League
Entry sheets are now up for the ever popular Spring League. Weather conditions permitting, it is hoped to start on Sat. 28 January with the draw taking place on Friday 27 Jan.. Members should note that the entry fee is 10 euro which is payable on entry. Please put your name on the sheet as soon as possible as the organizing committee needs to have everything in order for the starting date.

Course Work
Liam O’Brien, Chairman of the Course Sub Committee and several volunteers have been exceptionally busy of late tidying up the course and removing much dead wood from the surrounds. At present Liam and his assistants are drawing up plans to plant a variety of trees in the area of the 4th and 5th fairways. Liam hopes to call on the generosity of members to sponsor some of the trees. These trees will no doubt enhance our course and will add to the development of the new holes.

Ladies’ golf
The Winter League, kindly sponsored by Costcutters, continues with Saturday 28 Jan. the cut off date for the completion of first three rounds. Ladies, please note also that as and from 23rd january 2012 all nine-hole competitions, including Winter League, are 'arrange and play' any day except Wednesdays, when draws only are in operation. Draws are at 9 am, 9.50 am and 1.50 pm.
Ladies' Coaching. It is hoped that a series of ladies' coaching/lessons with professional Kevin McGrath will commence mid February. The lessons will run for five weeks of one hour duration each. There will be groups of six maximum, for each session. Classes will be divided according to handicap so that players in the same category can be coached together. The list for those interested is posted in the ladies locker room and the closing date is Wednesday 1st February. The cost will be €50, payable on week one.
Sympathy
The members extend deepest sympathy to Tony McCormack and his family on the death of his brother PJ in Banagher recently.
